Day 27: American Dad - Best Little Horror House in Langley Falls

Stan and Francine have had the scariest haunted house on the block for eight years running, but when one of their neighbors provides some stiff competition, Stan ups the ante with a "killer" set-up. Meanwhile, Steve falls head over heels for his overprotective friend's younger sister and competes to win her heart in a Halloween showdown. 

 

 

I liked this Halloween cartoon.  I mean, I really liked it.  It reeks of Halloween and truly embraces the holiday.  The costumes are great, the storyline is funny, and it is definitely one of the better Halloween shows from a cartoon series in quite some time.  Though, this year's Bob's Burgers might top that list.

Day 26: Lilo & Stitch - Spooky

Halloween has come to Kokoua Town and our favorite ohana is celebrating it as well. But an experiment that exploits fear is causing panic over the town. Can Lilo and Stitch overcome their innermost fears to capture it?

 The overcoming the fear part was rather predictable and dare I say, a little corny but still sweet in itself though the climax more then made up for it. Still, a nice Halloween cartoon, especially for kids.

Day 25: Johnny Bravo - FrankenBravo

Johnny Bravo meets a mad scientist whi has made the perfect female monster.  Johnny, being Johnny, outs a move on the monster, and then they both find themselves on the run from an angry mob!

I've only seen a handful of Johnny Bravo episodes, but they were all highly entertaining.  This one is no exception.   A nice play on the classic tale of Frankenstein that is full of laughs.

Day 24: Will & Grace - It's The Gay Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

Grace sees an ad for pumpkin picking day trips to the Catskills in the paper and remembers how she and Will have every year talked about renting bikes and doing it, but have not actually done it. Leo mentions that he has a friend who likes biking and suggests that the time is now. Will and Grace do not realize that Leo hasn't yet picked up that they are all talk and no action. So they are completely unprepared when Leo arrives, ready to go. 

 While I wasn't much of a Will & Grace fan, the episodes I have seen have been good.  This one is one of, if not the best episodes I have ever seen.  Will's mini date is hilarious, and Grace, looking cute as ever, surrounded by pumpkins in a pumpkin patch???  I likey.

Day 23: Wishbone - The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

In this version of Washington Irving's classic early American ghost story, Wishbone steps into play Ichabod Crane, the nervous school teacher who comes to Sleepy Hollow. The producers did a good job of capturing the look of early colonial America and you know the budgets sure were not very big for these shows. This is a good way for kids to learn about this classic story without having quite the frights of the actual story or theatrical versions.

While this Halloween Special is aimed for children MUCH younger than I, it features a cute freakin dog in one of my favorite tales of all time.  This is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine.  It is corny as hell, VERY family friendly, and quite enjoyable.
